Cable came off on one side
A cable off the drum leaves the door crooked: one side up, one side down. Do not run the opener to "pull it straight". It wraps the loose cable around the shaft and bends the door sections.
Cable snapped or frayed
Cables wear where they wrap the drum and where they meet the bottom bracket. Road salt and wet Durham winters rust cables and bottom brackets from the floor up. We replace cables in pairs so both sides lift evenly.
